Eyelash Extensions FAQ

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT EYELASH EXTENSIONS SEATTLE

Q. What are Eyelash Extensions?

A. Eyelash extensions are a new procedure to the US that extends the real lash with a new weightless and very natural looking synthetic lash. It originated in Korea over 10 years ago.

Q. How does the extension perform?

A. The synthetic lash is applied hair by hair to each of your own lashes using a special bonding agent that lasts through the length of your natural growth cycle of each lash, which is between 60 to 90 days.

Q. Then why do I need to come for fills every 2 to 4 weeks?

A. Normally, not all of your eyelashes fall out at the same time. They replenish gradually day by day. You may lose 1 or 2 lashes each day but when your lashes are short you don't notice it because they are all pretty much the same length. But when your eyelashes are extended, when some lashes fall off, you notice them right away because now there is a length difference. Don't worry, when some lashes fall out there are plenty of new ones that have grown in and are ready for the eyelash technician to refill. That is when you need to come in to be beautified again. Some people like the full look all the time and come in every 2 weeks, some prefer coming in every 3 or 4 weeks. You can come as often as you want, it depends on your time and financial resources.

Q. How do I take care of my eyelash extensions?

A. Eyelash extention are easily maintained. Just don't rub your eyes too hard when you clean them. Avoid any oil based cleansers, lotion or make-up remover. Gel cleanser is recommended. Use a small Q-tip to carefully clean the eyeliner around the eye.

Q. Can I use my eyelash curler?

A. No, traditional lash curlers are not recommended because they can break the synthetic lash. We do offer special eyeylash curlers that are designed to be gentle on lash extensions.

Q. Can I use mascara?

A. We offer a special coating mascara made for eyelash extensions, that will not deteriorate the adhesive bond like traditional masara, however most people find they do not need to wear mascara as the lash extensions create a lush full, natural lashline that is far prettier than can ever be acheived with mascara.

Q. What do I do before I come in for my eyelash appointment?

A. You should clean your lashes with a mild cleanser. Don't use oily makeup remover to clean your lashes prior to the application. Don't curl your lashes. Don't put on any mascara. If you like you can bring your iPod or your favorite music to listen to while I make you beautiful.

Q. Is the lash extension glued to my skin?

A. No, the extensions are glued about 1mm away from your skin. Neither the synthetic lash nor the glue ever come in contact with your skin.

Q. Is the glue odorless?

A. Absolutely, my glue is odorless. No burning or tearing will occur if you wait for the glue to dry. Stinging occurs if you open your eye too soon while the glue is still wet and gassing off.

Q. How do you remove the extension lashes?

A. There are 2 ways:

1. Come and let us professionally remove them with a special remover. Please do not attempt to remove  them yourself. The glue is very strong.
2. Let the extension lashes slowly fall out by themselves. Which can take up to 2 months.

Q. I have had someone else do my extensions and I am not happy, can I come to you for my fills?

A. Yes, I frequently get new clients this way. I request that for our first appointment we allot extra time to make sure that I can fix any problems and make you look beautiful without being rushed to fit you in between clients.
